So, two good friends of mine are each starting their dream car build (links to da left) and I'm quite enthused to witness the transformation that both the cars and owners will go through. One is a '71 Corvette that has recently had its engine pulled for a full rebuild and body restoration (after 4-ish years of planning I've been told) and the other is a recent purchased shell of the illustrious Gen-III RX-7. For the past few weeks I've enjoyed the banter, dreaming, planning, and reality of two entirely different builds that are in different phases of initiation. Through this, my own desires began to surface with the inevitable question: "Where is my own dream car project???"
Well, my reality is a different one. Circumstantially I currently live in Jabroni Jackhole central where you're not aloud to own anything "nice" (as whitey puts it) - cause the JJ's will come by and knock your ass down, steal, rape, and maim what you've worked hard for in attempt to bring you to their level of festering scum excrement....a beloved motorcycle stolen by the JJ's come to mind as I write this. Needless to say, it would be foolish to start any sort of build until I move away from the Jabroni's to a place with a proper man-cave garage. Strangely, all those years of laughing at my father in his man-cave garage as a kid are hauntingly ironic...
Fools are as fools is and I am the Captain of this ship of fools - so off we go with my own dream car project - step one:
